The Roadrunner Round-Up: Homecoming Edition

This week has been full of fun as Roadrunners Paint the Town Blue and Silver for Homecoming 2017. The College celebrates its 50th anniversary this year so it has been an extra special homecoming week on campus.

1. Window Painting

Student organizations literally came together to paint the Pope Student Center "Blue and Silver" to raise a little extra Roadrunner spirit.

2. Door Decorating

Creativity is all around Roadrunner Nation, and what better way to show this than coming together to decorate the College! That is by painting the town blue and silver.

3. Can-struction

Part of being a Roadrunner means giving back. Organizations on campus collected cans for the Birdfeeder food pantry, which serves students in need. Part of the Can-struction competition is to see who can collect the most and build something that represents their organization and Dalton State College.

5. Darts

What better way to get involved in Homecoming than to help make the backdrop for the dance? Students met outside of Pope Student Center to throw darts at balloons filled with blue and silver paint.

5. Fireside Chat

David Elrod, director of the Dalton State Foundation and an alumnus of Dalton State, joined residents at Mashburn Hall Wednesday night to talk about how four gifts created what we know as Dalton State. He answered many great questions after his amazing story and residents enjoyed s'mores and hot beverages compliments of RHA.

Homecoming isn't over yet!

  • Hoops for Higgins is Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Bandy Gym. Come see our annual alumni v. faculty/staff basketball game fundraiser; admission is $5.
  • A Homecoming Reception follows in the Pope Student Center starting at 2:30 p.m.
  • At 4 p.m. your Dalton State Roadrunners take on the College of Coastal Georgia in Mashburn Arena! The homecoming coronation will be during halftime.

We would love to see you there!
